Healthy Utah Community

Get Healthy Utah is excited to partner with the Utah League of Cities and Towns to support Healthy Utah Community, a new designation program for cities and towns. This designation recognizes communities across Utah that do an exemplary job of implementing evidence-based strategies to improve community health.

  • Designation Year: Spring 2023
  • Located in Weber County, Riverdale is working hard to promote physical and mental wellness in its community. Each year, the city holds a 5K and half marathon to bring awareness to opioid abuse and to discourage underage alcohol, tobacco, and vape use. First responders in the community have also been trained in mental health awareness and suicide prevention, creating a safety net for individuals in crisis. Food is also made available to those suffering from food insecurity through a community "blessing box" and free meals at the local senior center.
