Healthy Utah Community

Get Healthy Utah is excited to partner with the Utah League of Cities and Towns to support Healthy Utah Community, a new designation program for cities and towns. This designation recognizes communities across Utah that do an exemplary job of implementing evidence-based strategies to improve community health.

Provo

Provo

  • Population: 116,594
  • Designation Year: Fall 2021
  • Provo is dedicated to safeguarding the mental wellbeing of its residents. Provo promotes the SafeUT app in schools, provides medication disposal services, and the Provo Police has a grant-funded Victim Services Division. Provo is also committed to its citizens’ fitness and nutritional needs. The city has an abundance of trails and parks, with plans to build outdoor fitness stations to increase free exercise opportunities. Urban walking and running courses are connected throughout the city and Provo’s community sports programs for both kids and adults are thriving, with high levels of participation. To ensure that all have the opportunity to play, scholarships are available for underprivileged youth.
