Monroe has made healthy living fun in their community! The city offers low cost community sports programs and is currently installing pickleball courts. To improve access to healthy food, the city offers a bimonthly farmers market along with a food truck rally to support local businesses.

Monroe has made mental health an especially important priority for the community. The city installed a second medication drop box, handed out free gun locks to citizen, and also beautified an outdoor area area for recreation, which promotes both active living and social connection. Moving forward, the city plans to further promote mental health resources through local law enforcement and the local high school.

2026 Redesignation:

To be redesignated, Monroe continued to prioritize active living as part of its community health efforts. The Monroe City Health Coalition established a trail committee to advance plans for a walking and biking trail in the foothills near town.
